10 Most Frequently Asked Questions About MedSpa Services

1. What’s the difference between a MedSpa and a salon?

medspa parker co

Although they offer many of the same types of services, MedSpas are able to provide treatments that require additional experience, training, and advanced certifications.

For example, both salons and medical spas offer facials, cosmetic services, and skin care products. However, you can only obtain treatments with prescription, medical-grade products like BOTOX or Juvederm by a physician, nurse practitioner, or certified aesthetician. Treatments such as these offer longer-lasting results than mere surface products, but they should only be administered by qualified professionals.

The services may cost a little more than you’ll find at your local day spa, but the difference in quality, care, and outcomes is worth the investment. Choosing a MedSpa for your anti-aging and beauty treatments offers more attention to detail, reduced risk of side effects, and overall superior results.

2. What kind of services do you offer?

We offer a selection of treatments and products that address the most common skin and beauty concerns. Our services range from procedures that are meant to rejuvenate the skin, such as chemical peels, dermaplaning, and microdermabrasion to more intensive treatments that were created to address mild to advance signs of aging. These include Neuromodulators like BOTOX and Dysport® as well as fillers like Juverderm®.

Beauty is a huge part of self-care and confidence, so we also have an on-site hair salon, permanent cosmetics, and lash & brow bar.

However, it isn’t only about facial treatments. Our state-of-the-art sunless tanning salon offers a healthy glow without the resultant damage from UV rays. Expert face and body waxing services provide a smooth surface that will leave you feeling soft and smooth while providing the ideal canvas for all of our services.

3. What is a dermal filler?

Dermal Filler injection

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments that replace the hyaluronic acid your body produces naturally. Hormones in your body deplete as you age, leaving skin creased, sunken, and droopy. Treatment with fillers also encourages collagen production, which is the basis for younger, firmer skin.

We offer several formulations of Juvederm, each of which is meant to address a specific beauty issue on various parts of the face. Each treatment lasts for up to nine months before you’ll need a touch up.

4. What is the difference between BOTOX® and fillers?

Although they’re both injectable treatments that address some of the same issues, Botox and facial fillers work in different ways. Fillers inject a substance under the skin in order to add fullness and “fill” wrinkles and creases. Botox prevents the release of chemicals that regulate muscle contraction, which relaxes the underlying muscle and results in a softening of the features.

Botox is by far one of our more affordable and popular selections, with prices starting at $12 per unit and lasting for up to six months before you need a refresher.

5. What is microblading?

Microblading is an eyebrow enhancement technique that’s similar to permanent makeup, but with more refined and realistic results. The difference is that the new brow is applied in short, light strokes with a brush-like tool tipped with tiny, razor-sharp needles that are dipped in a semi-permanent pigment.

The enhancement will last for up to three years, with a touch-up needed in 12 – 18 months to refresh the fading pigment. There are few side effects with this procedure, and the area is numbed before the color is applied. Your brow area will be slightly swollen and red for a few days, and the color will be darker than expected for the first two weeks until it settles in and softens to a more natural shade.

6. How do I know if my aesthetician is qualified?

In order to apply medical-grade treatments like Botox and Kybella®, MedSpas in Colorado must be staffed by at least one qualified medical professional or certified aesthetician. If you’re not sure, just ask. Any staff member at a reputable MedSpa should be happy to tell you about their qualifications and experience.

Our owner is a licensed aesthetician with advanced certifications in all applicable services. You’ll find a list of credentials on our website as well as at the facility.

7. Are MedSpa services expensive?

When you compare the cost of long-term treatments to the ongoing price of serums and creams that provide temporary results, if they work at all, the cost of MedSpa services is more of an investment.

The ultimate cost depends on several factors, including:

• Your age and extent of the problem
• The amount and type of treatment
• Whether it’s the first procedure or a refill

Initial consultations and two-week follow-ups are free.

8. Do you offer memberships or other perks?

Yes, we do. In addition to money-saving memberships, we offer several monthly promotions, discounts, and package deals. Memberships are monthly and available in three tiers, Platinum, Diamond, and Rose Gold. Members will enjoy a free hydra-facial each month and deep discounts on some of our most popular services.

9. What are permanent cosmetics?

This is essentially a tattooing technique that gives you the look of wearing makeup without all the time and mess. You could choose a subtle look for every day or something more dramatic.

At our salon, we use a combination of techniques to produce a powdery finish on eyelids and brows. Guests can also opt for microblading alone as well as permanent lip and eyeliner. Lip liner options include a naturally fading blended or ombre look and a full, permanent outline.

10. What happens if I’m not satisfied with my results?

Our goal is to provide complete satisfaction for all of our members and guests. If you ever have any issues or concerns, we’ll do everything in our power to address them quickly.

However, we prefer to let our guests speak for themselves. We have a perfect 5-star rating on Google Reviews, which should tell you something about the level of care, dedication, and professionalism we put into all of our services.
